Cancer Walk

Image
I attended a cancer walk in memory of those who survived and lost their lives to the disease. This was the first of the annual walks held at the Velodrome in Bellville,  Cape Town. I was overwhelmed at first with the multitude of women who attended, especially how brave they were, to be honest, I expected  a very different type of atmosphere, not as positive or cheerful as it was. As the daughter of a cancer survivor, I know what it feels like not to be able to do anything for the person you love so much, and offer nothing but support, wishing you could trade places.                             Mom and the other survivors           Mom with her friend Rose     However, I can honestly say that I  have the strongest mother I know - and God's grace is what carries her, with her smiles, her strength an her strong faith she is a survivor. The Ven...

Xpresso opens it's 3rd Coffee Cafe!

Image
Hello Xpresso! I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for a well roasted, wholesome coffee – especially a frothy, tasty speciality coffee. My day has not started if I did not indulge in a beautiful cup of coffee. Thus, -  I was in disbelief when I stumbled on an express coffee cafĂ© in Capegate mall,  called Xpresso, where EVERYTHING is R10! When I say everything…..I mean ALLES!!! That is less the $1 and less than 80 pence per item!! WHAAAAATT???? Best Price                                                                                    Quirky vintage store feel I have been programmed to believe that when something is cheap, the quality is cheap! Indeed! But -  this is not the case here at ALL! This is a java cafĂ©  that would put mos...

My faves at the Golden Globes

Image
Hello divalicious divas! I'm sure by now you have seen the GG 2017 so I've pulled a few of my faves, and not-so-faves, heehee! Enjoy lovies! Brie Marson in Rodarte The Mullevey design sisters are brilliant at capturing femininity and this gown -  is no different. The drape teamed with the sequins and the floatiness of the fabric is an absolute winner! Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen Love the drama in this AMcQ dress with the sequins and feathers, typical of the designhouse theatrical style. I know the sleeves are not everyone's cup of tea but I love that Nicole is a bit adventurous! Priyanka Chopra in Ralph Lauren Bronzy golds on olive skin is always exquisite. I love the juxtapositioning of the modest dress VS the revealing cleavage! Naomi Campbell in Versace This was one of my favourites. I'm speechless! Emma Stone in Valentino The nude embellished dress is gorge! It captures Emma's quirky personality but with complete e...

Hello my fashionfantastic divas! AS you know, it was the AMA's and there were some amazing outfits, and some outfits that needed sensoring! EEEEEK!! See my hits and misses below! HITS! Lady Gaga     She definitely earns the right to  be called a 'lady' and she looks elegant, yet edgy!WHITE is always RIGHT!! I love the juxtaposition of the slim jacket VS the wide leg trouser! Brandon Maxwell - you outdid yourself! ARIANA GRANDE     Isn't she so cute? Such a little dynamite! I love the cropped top, I just wish the trouser was a bit higher on the waist, it would been so much more sophisticated. GIGI HADID     She looked amazing in the lace Cavalli dress however, just a bit more cover on the'female bits' would have just added a bit more sophistication. Yes, she is young, and gorgeous, and a supermodel, and...and...and....but it would have been great to leave something up to the imagination...... JENNY MCCARTHY Simple, sleek...
