Beauty unveiled

Women often feel pressurised in believing that true beauty is what is depicted in fashion magazines, the latest cosmetic ads, or the standards created by global trends. But is this truly a factual presentation of what the majority of women look like globally? If you are not a certain size, does this mean you are suddenly excluded from certain privileges, often regarded as merely superficial? Now there is nothing wrong with being beautiful,  but remember that the only eternal beauty is what is reflected from the heart, so love and embrace who you are - your unique design is your purpose!! The video will give you a some perspectives on the realities of being a supermodel, - Cameron Russell explains that external beauty is not everything!

Jeans for Pearshapes

Image
A while ago I was requested to blog about jeans for pearshapes. Women often think oversized jeans 'hide' your feminine attributes, when it actually accentuates it! Well honey - have a look at these denims and see if it works for you!! Bootleg goes best!! Bootlegs create a balance between the thigh and the lower leg. It slims the knee area and elongates the leg. Opt for darker washes instead of the bootlegs with fade/wash details on the leg as below The wash/faded detail as above, draws attention the the broadest part of the leg (thighs) and immediately makes it look bigger. Choose jeans with low pockets which are below the backside area. This will make it appear smaller. The above pocket also have a vertical cutline which 'break up'the area and thus, slim it. There are plenty of options you can experiment with. Ensure that the waistband is just below the waist and broad enough to provide the right support. Front pockets must be round - av

Dresses for Appleshapes

I often find that women with the fuller waists, run as far as possible from dresses. No need - there are enough styles that could flatter your scrumptious shape darling!!  Below are some options for you! THE WRAP DRESS I love this style for your shape. The wrap over creates a diagonal line which slims and lengthens the body. Can you see how this sleeve slims her bicep? Diagonal stripes creates even more of a slimming silhouette. Choose woven fabrics instead of knits/stretch that skims the body! I absolutely love this one - don't be afraid of colour, and waistbands! UNDERBUST CUTLINES This is a great way to hide the belly and elongate the frame. V-NECKLINES Choose V-necklines with broad underbust details. This will not only provide support, but also draw the eye down toward the slimmest part of the body. MAXI's Don't be afraid of softer floaty fabrics, just make sure you have the right supportive underwear. COLOURBLOCK Try co

My dad my Hero! I thank you!

I'm sure you may be wondering why I've been so quiet, but sadly - I've had to say goodbye to one of the greatest men I know - my father. He left his earthly home 3 weeks ago and is now exploring the streets of gold in heaven. I owe to him many of my beliefs and character traits and I am so thankful for his love for people - I suppose that's where I developed my love to help and support women especially! My next installment I dedicate to you dad! Thank you for always being a shining light, a mentor, a friend, and providing me with security...................  I salute you!

Style Star - Nicole Kidman

Ode to Nicole! Cannes Festival! She is not only beautiful, but this month we celebrate her femininity, class, and absolute style! Thank you Nicole for showing us what it means to age gracefully! The envy of many! One shoulder dresses elongate and slim the neckline and shoulder! If you did not know - embossed, embellishes and embroided on white based fabrics - are huge for summer!! This 50'ish inspired frock is gorgeous if you want to cover up the hip area. The length ends at the smallest part of the leg and makes it appear slimmer :-) Here she gorgeous in a milk Giorgio Armani dress. The angular bustline slims the bust area and I love that she did not accessories, as there is enough glam on the dress. Not a fan of the foliage (leaf) dress but that bod can carry a bag and look fab! Can you see how the slim shape makes her look 8 feet tall?

Dresses for Pearshapes

I recently had a request to blog about dresses for pearshapes. The biggest myth is that a pearshape should wear oversized tops and cardigans.........eeeeeeeek!! You have the most popular female shape in the world hun!! Why would you hide that 'All Woman, Divalicous, Godgiven frame of yours??' Below are some of my favourites for you!! Fit and Flare Yes - Marilyn Monroe did it...so why can't you??? I especially love these ones because it has the pleats which adds some fullness to the bust and the flare hides the hip, but still gives you gorgeous femininity! Another variation of this style is the one above with the triangular contrast insets. It boadens the shoulders and shows off your slim waist. Beware however, if you have a fuller waist of course! Make sure that you wear a length that is right for you - this one would have been perfect, just above - or below the knee! Don't be afraid of a chinced waist and some pleating on the waitline! This will cover th

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior. White interest fabrics are the hottest thing this season, but what do you think of the style? I'm sure by now you know she tripped on the stairs, so I think she might have slightly overdone the volume! Jennifer Aniston is sporting one of the hottest colours this seaon - Yes, the fiery shades of orange are back! I love how her the A-line creates a beautiful length to this petite fashionista! Would you believe the delicate embroidery on this dress is not leaves, but dragonflies? Amanda you look elegant and sophisticated. Love the detail. Remember ladies - if you have lots of beautiful embroidery detail, you don't need to overstyle. Keep it simple! Kudos! Charlize looks elegant in this peplum corset with embellishment. I love that she understands her shape and adds curves on the hip area and sophisticated elegance to a simple style. Beautiful! I believe Halle redeemed herself after the Guild awards! She looks amazing in this e

Tina Fey is the 'Vision'of Vintage beauty. She looked amazing in this sweetheart neckline!!! I also like the bit of 'black on black' detail on the bust! Love the 'Pin-up' girl hair do!! 10 out of 10 for effortles glam!! Leah Michelle - Colour is ALWAYS a winner for me! I an not a fan of this type of tier in an evening dress,(reminds me of those cotton-linen summer tiered dresses) but this dame looks great though! Mamma Mia!!! Love the styling!! Amanda is rocking a mermaid style dress with a waterfall hem. I'm concerned about the colour on her skintone and with her hair.......The picture on the left washes her complection a bit. What are your views? Now this is a 'WOW'moment for me. Juliana - I love your assymetric ruffles. Love the sleeve, the cowl, the mermaid hem.  This dress seems to accuentuate her small frame in all the right places. There is so much happening on this dress in terms of styling, but it is very subtle and absolutely g

Golden Globe Favourites

J-Lo - One word - FABULOUS!!!!!! This dress creates the illusion of a sheer 'body-glove' but is actually lined with a nude undergarment. She understands her shape so well, and carries this dress tastefully. Love the nude shoes too! Black - Another favorite was Kate Hudson in this Alexander McQueen ! This vintage inspired dress fits like a glove. It  is the embodiment of grown up glam! Kudos Katy!!! Nicole - *sigh* - you are always graceful, always beautiful, but this time I am not loving the dress at all. Even if you skipped the sheer waist and had a plain dress with the embellished top and rather had a fab exit (back) detail, you would have stolen the show. Just having that bod makes you fab already!!! No comment on the rest - the trims are just a bit too much................... Vintage Inspired - Taylor -  This dress looks a wee bit too mature for you. The combination of the color VS the 90's 'look' I don't feel works for you. Beautiful dress however
