Congratulations Mr and Miss Parow high school 2019

I have a passion for community and youth. The past Thursday, I had the pleasure of judging at a high school very close to my heart. You may remember that this was the very school who hosted my teen event as well as my Mrs South Africa fundraiser.                          Myself and fellow judge - Ross van Eetveldt For the second consecutive time I judged with Ross van Eersveldt and the beautiful Tanya  - Mrs Western Cape joined us.                           Ross van Eedveldt, Miss Parow High - Kim Davids and Miss Western Cape Tanya Wolmarans Kim Davids walked away the Miss Parow 2019 crown. Did you catch my feature in the Northern News paper? Mika and I discussed my 'Teen Matters' event, aimed at developing well groomed, confident and well rounded teens. Parents and aspiring models often approach me in the hope of joining a lucrative model agency, so I decided to start a school where they have the freedom to grow, find themselves, build confidence and most importantly, make a difference in their community. I don't develop influencers, I develop impactors!

SA Menswear Fashion week

I recently went to SAMFW and they showcased the Winter 2019 collections. The show opened at the prestigious Radisson hotel and Unknown Union showcased and absolute production of art, fashion, and music. How can anyone compete at this level? Unknown Union show day 1 - fashion showcase Unknown Union artwork showcase Day 1-As it's SA Menswear week, I opted for a 3 piece suit.  I am celebrating Menswear.  The backless top and strappy sandals adds a bit of femininity  and completes the look.  Day 2 - I opted for 90's puffed sleeves and foil print skirt Ladies, this style feminizes a square shape, adding  volume and curve to a boyish frame. Ruffles, tiers and sunshine

Image
This summer ruffles and tiers are huge! The key is to ensure that you keep it simple! Ruffles add volume, hence it could make you look bigger, so be careful of the fabric you choose. I find that chiffon and gorgette ruffles (in dresses and skirts) are extremely flattering for all frames. Check my older posts to find your bodyshape guide. I opted for a 'strappy top'... ...and layers starting below my hips... ...and teamed it with my silver flats! Ruffle dresses are special enough, so keep accessories minimal!
