Easy semi formal day to day looks

Once a month I will blog easy day and office wear. I will show some 'girl  - next - door' ideas on how to put looks together effortlessly and easily without spending an arm and a leg.

As you know in the southern hemissphere its winter, so below are some quick and easy looks for your winter wardrobe.

Smart comfort

You do not always need to tower in 6 inch heels to look smart. Feminise your monotone greys and black by playing with shape. A circle skirt is classy and fits ALL bodyshapes. A winter must have!

 Playful androgony

A quirky bright printed shirt ALWAYS makes a serious business look a bit more playful. Give your white structured shirt a rest by adding a bit of fun to your formal trouser. Team it with a bright quirky shirt in prints or plain with a flat brogue.

 Retro Chic

On a more casual day - Layer a polo or cowl neck with a contrast scarf. Wear a thigh length coat and attempt a skinny jeans. Just ensure that your bottoms are covered by the coat if this is a problem area. For the skinnier girl - you can wear a knee length boot with knee length socks if the boot is too wide. Match it with your scarf! Why not??

 70's Glam

Purples work with most skin types especially olives, toffees, chocs, and fiery reds. Team a feminine retro dress with courts or kneelength boots and use gold or choc accesories to break the colour. Use an easy longer strap bag for the day and swop with a clutch and court shoe for the evening. 

Faux fur is always a winter staple. Buy a basic shape and team it with solid colours. Let the jacket make the statement. Throw on a Fedora in the same hues as the trouser and top! :-) Less is more!

 LA Cool

Double breast jackets are a bit of a 'cool'deviation from the normal single breast. Instead of choosing it in black, use a transitional colour you can wear in summer and winter. Team it with a ripped jeans and gladiators or a pointy court, and voila!!

That statement  skirt!!

Whether its a maxi or a midi, you MUST have a feminine statement skirt! Team it with a plain top and simple accessories which carry the same colourways. A smart or a casual cropped denim jacket will show off your gorgeous waist! Why not throw a solid black belt while you're at it?
