Dresses for Pearshapes
I recently had a request to blog about dresses for pearshapes. The biggest myth is that a pearshape should wear oversized tops and cardigans.........eeeeeeeek!! You have the most popular female shape in the world hun!! Why would you hide that 'All Woman, Divalicous, Godgiven frame of yours??' Below are some of my favourites for you!!
Fit and Flare
Yes - Marilyn Monroe did it...so why can't you??? I especially love these ones because it has the pleats which adds some fullness to the bust and the flare hides the hip, but still gives you gorgeous femininity!
Another variation of this style is the one above with the triangular contrast insets. It boadens the shoulders and shows off your slim waist. Beware however, if you have a fuller waist of course! Make sure that you wear a length that is right for you - this one would have been perfect, just above - or below the knee!
Don't be afraid of a chinced waist and some pleating on the waitline!
This will cover the hip area and give you a waist. I love the square neck as
this will broaden your narrow shoulders. The volume in this dirndle skirt will
also slim your leg!
Halter dresses - Maxi or mid lengths
Broader waistbands accentuate your great waistline. Try lengths below the knee if you have heavier legs, or just above knee if are comfortable and have great legs. Don't be afraid to have detail around the neck, bust, and underbust area, this will make your bust area appear larger. Empire (underbust cutlines) lines are great to slim and lengthen your torso (upper body)
I love this floral halter with the hanky hem. The hanky hems
are great as it slims heavy legs.
Love this halter with the sweetheart shape onthe bust. It adds shape
to the bust and I also apreciate the a-line flare which starts at the
most flattering part of your body - the waist!
Wrap it up!!!
Wraps are great for you, as they lengthen and slim your silhouette.
Make sure that you chose a dress shape that is A-Line or Fit and Flare.
Details like ruffels or pleats on the bust is great.Try and choose a dress
length that is just below the knee! Please avoid stretchy knit fabrics or
figure hugging styles.
