Face Shapes

Image
We often struggle with our face shape, and hairstyles and earring are quite a struggle to decide on. Over the next few blogs I will discuss the different face shapes what to wear to suit it. Long Face Shapes   Your face is normally longer in length than in width. If you measure the widest part of your face with a tape measure, the length is more. Oval Face Shapes    Your face appears narrower towards your chin. The silhouette seems oval and equal proportions from cheek to jawline.  Sweetheart Face Shapes    Your face is narrower towards the chin and wide cheekbones. Your chin is one of the most prominent features in your face. Square Face       Your face seems square and equal in proportion throughout length, especially your cheekbone and chin area, and your jawline is very strong. Round Face Shapes        Your face is quite circular, with soft bone structu...

Pants and shoe combo ideas for your shape, by Instyle Magazine

Image
I am writing a piece shortly about the best shoes for your leg shapes, but I stumbled on this amazing piece by Instyle magazine that was too juicy NOT to share!! Kudos Instyle! I could not agree more!! Athletic/Linear shapes Tap your sporty side with drawstring trousers (an upgrade from sweats), like Allison Williams'. They're not only comfortable, but the waist-cinching band encourages curves. Counter a too-athletic aesthetic with ladylike nude pumps. Curvy LET Christina Hendricks be your go-to muse and select high-waisted wide-leg pants (ideally with a crease down the center) to create a longer, leaner look. As for shoes, opt for a clean, classic pump, or a chunky high-heel sandal. Petite Look for ankle-grazing bottoms that are fit and tailored to your frame. Try to avoid dark ankle-strap shoes-the strap can cut off your legs, making you appear shorter. The goal is to lengthen. Reese Witherspoon opted for leopard print pumps, which built height and ...

How to dress for an interview

Image
Many women are not really sure what the best items of clothing are to dress for an interview. The key thing is to dress for success! Also add a bit of your personality, whilst trying to be the best professional candidate for the position. Be yourself Dress up! Look the part! Wear something that's truly you! Don't strive to look like anyone else. Research the job and study the job description. This will give you an overview of the expectation. You have 7 seconds to make a first impression. Do your best!  Add a dash of confidence!   OR     Even if you are nervous, add a dash of colour - if you are adventurous enough, wear a bright top or dress. However, if you are not comfortable, colour always read well in accessories like belts, scarves and bags!! The left option is the younger interpretation, whereas the right one is for a more mature woman. Preppy lady! If all fails -  to be or not to LBD?    A...

7 Things that make your clothes look cheap. An amazing piece by COSMO

Image
1. Gathered seams Designers like these because they can make clothes more forgiving and help hide fit issues that arise when you use flat, smooth seams. Also, sharply tailored garments are more difficult to make, more expensive, and can be worn by fewer people. Think about it — the better something fits you, the worse it is going to fit pretty much everyone else. Instead, look for pieces with clean lines and sharp tailoring, and always choose pleats over gathered seams. 2. Embellishments Embroidery, sequins, beading, and studs look amazing when they are applied by skilled craftspeople using high-quality materials, but not so much when they are done by machine on a $20 T-shirt. Even if an embellished piece looks OK in the store or in a picture, you know that once you start wearing it for real, it's going to fall apart, and nothing looks cheaper than a jeweled sweater with missing jewels. Instead, focus on simple, unadorned pieces, and use your jewelry and other accessories as e...
