Red Carpet Fashion Show 2016

Image
I had the pleasure of attending the 'Red Carpet Fashion Show' at 'The Bay Hotel', Camps Bay in the company of the beautiful Elana Africa. I was absolutely honored - she is a business woman, TV Personality, Actress, Presenter,  Award winning wine maker, Mother, Wife....and...and....phew!! We were welcomed with an array of Maserati's which were unfortunately not part of our 'goodie bag'. Heeheehee! The gorgeous ramp led to a backdrop of hundreds of roses! We had the pleasure of  complimentary hairstyling, massages, pedicures, and makeup provided by GHD, Taylor Morgan, the Rain Spa, etc....AMAZING! Jen Su was the Host for the evening! Designer brands, such as Devernois (French) Hackett London, Juicy Couture (USA) Vilebrequin (St Tropez) Etnia (Barcelona) Tread and Miller, just to name a few, showcased their ranges.

Some exquisite dresses, fabulous designers, and famous celebrities make a for a great spiced up dish at the Emmies 2016. These were some of my faves! Tracee Ellis Ross If you are 40 plus and have shape as gorgeous as this - you definitely can pull of a Raulph Lauren gown effortlessly. I'm not a fan of exposed bellies but this is discreet and Hun you are delicious! Viola Davis I have the greatest respect for a mature woman who takes care of her shape. Viola stuns in this Marchesa dress. The embellishment is a bit understated, but definitely suited to her age. Prianka Chopra How stunning is this lady in red?? I love the double strap and simple accessories. Jason Wu you are a magician! :-) Taraji P Henson Oh Vera Wang - how much we love you?? Simple elegance. This is why I love colour, especially sunshine! :-) Tina Fey! This is an Oscar Da La Renta beauty! This level of green against her olive skin and dark locks are just exquisite!

Mix up sporty and smart and create a classy sleek combo!

A few weeks ago I visited the SA Menswear Fashion week. Obviously I tried to dress appropriate to the eve - so instead of dressing my normal feminine looks of the previous years, (as below in white) I went with a very sleek sporty look. For the winter showing I opted for a sheer dress with a plain slip and cache heels and statement bag You can team up a sporty dress either with sneaker or heels as I did. Don't forget its perfect over bikini's too!! For the summer showing I opted for pleather and fur! GRRRAWWR!! Heehee. Because the faux fur is colour blocked I chose a solid colour trouser and top. Less is more. The pleather jogger just creates a bit of sporty sophistication. Why not?

How to rock your dirndl skirt!

The dirndl skirt is one of the most classic styles suiting most bodyshapes. There are gorgeous skirts in exotic prints, but don't be afraid to team a pleather dirndl with a structured shirt and denim jacket. Ankle boots are an edgy alternative to a court!
